I have great respect and admiration for worship leaders, but some never cease to amaze me! I believe this is one of the craziest things I've seen done in worship. I'm so glad our worship leader has never done anything like this. I imagine this would be one stinky service. This has to rank up their with snake handling. I'm glad I missed this time of worship.

Darn Josh, I had this planned for worship after communion on Sunday! I wanted you to do that "holy hoe down" with me!
Seriously, I would not call this worship. Funny maybe, but if that's a worship song I should be writing more. That was - I don't know - disturbing and so shallow?!
What's sad is how much people participated to instructions to "swing your socks" ......
To be clear this didn't bother me because I am now in my 40s but because there was nothing concrete about worshiping God in it at all....it was just weird.
This is worship in "smell-o-rama".
For those of you that are unfamilar with this tune, it was from a popular 80s dance song called "You Spin Me Round" by Dead or Alive. It was popular in 1985; however, I assure it that it was not Jesus or the Lord that was spinning them around.
I know I may be going out on a limb here but I kind of like the swirling things above my head, dancing around and worshipping the Lord. I can think of about 100 things better than a stinky sock though.
I suppose it's different strokes for different folks. I actually would love to get down like that minus the socks. :)
i wish we were this passionate about worship. just minus the socks.
my comments - to be completely clear - were directed at the CONTENT, not the dancing and having a great time. Directed at God, passionately worshiping God, is fine - and that may have been their heart. The instructions and words were just odd to me and not worshipful. Again, my own judgment which could be flawed. I think I couldn't focus on anything but "spin me round" "do the holy hoe down" etc. and of course the whole sock thing.
I agree with Christie and Josh - wish we could be this passionate about worship. I Think that alot when we go to ballgames too.
